As manager for the User Support Office, I'm responsible for managing and supervising the efforts of the centralized User Support Services group, which provides essential services to national and international researchers who conduct research or collaborations through EMSL. This oversight includes ensuring EMSL's user proposals calls, external peer review process, user training and access are provided in a timely, efficient, compliant, and safe manner. My goals are to deliver outstanding support 1)to our users--allowing them to focus on their research goals and minimize the time needed for access procedures and requirements; 2) to our management to minimize the inherent demands for oversight and reporting in accordance with user facility requirements; 3) to our research staff so their efforts can be directed toward achieving the high-impact science results associated with a variety of user projects; and 4) to the User Support Office staff so they can operate efficiently within a strong team that is focused on customer service, safety and excellence in operations.
