Current Activities and Projects
Ken Auberry’s primary research interests are automated high-throughput data management and analysis for systems biology studies with a specific focus on proteomics and the challenges involved in sample analysis pipeline automation for biomarker discovery. He has been deeply involved in the design of both desktop and web-based end-user applications for the extraction and analysis of biological data from mass spectrometry studies. Auberry was one of the primary architects of the Proteomics Research Information Storage and Management system, the onsite process automation and data archiving infrastructure used by PNNL researchers to control and manage the flow of information from an array of mass spectrometers. Currently, he is aiding the design and implementation of EMSL’s lab-wide data management initiative, MyEMSL. This system will be used to automate the process of archiving research and analysis data, as well as providing integrated searching and browsing interfaces so researchers and collaborators can synthesize knowledge from vast of amounts of experimental data that the system will make readily available.
