Current Activities and Projects

Lax Saraf is a materials scientist/physicist in the area of solid state (condense matter) physics and materials research with over 14 years of research and development experience in the universities, national lab and industry related to synthesis of advanced materials, oxides/metals/semiconductors thin films as well as microfabrication. His research on specialized ceramic (oxides) materials was carried out for ferroelectric, microwave, optical, ion transport and superconducting applications. He has performed several capability developments to support user activities at Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory (EMSL).

Dr. Saraf is currently managing user activities in EMSL's micro-fabrication (clean room) facility as a cognizant space manager (CSM) and also involved in the development of user base in MOCVD & Focused Ion Beam laboratory. He is also a part of CSM council in EMSL acting as a representative member to advice and discuss lab safety implementation and user interaction policies with EMSL operations manager and communicate newly adopted strategy changes to other CSMs.
